Fall 2011 Plant List

2011/08/25 in Blog Posts,Newsletter,Posts,Posts | Comments (0)

Redlands, 25 August, sunny, hectic & too hot!

The wait is almost over! For weeks, we have been busy starting the next season of heirloom transplants. Germination has been spectacular! We are so thrilled to bring you heirloom varieties of cool season favorites from across the globe [Italy, Japan, Africa, Romania, etc] . Starting in September, look for these culinary wonders to start making their way to the racks of  Cherry Valley Nursery, the cart at Olive Ave Market & our booth at  the Downtown Redlands Saturday morning farmers market.

We will be on hand at the downtown farmers market with our cool season crops, our herb vinegars &  olive oils weekly from September through the beginning of November. Do follow us onFacebook - this is the best way to keep up with when & where we will be over the coming weeks.

From now until the 10th of September, we are taking preseason reservations and offering a 10% discount when you prepay with us at the farmers market [sorry, this offer is only available with us directly @ the farmers market] . Simply browse our plant list, email us [cparker@rollinghillsherbs.com]  with the names of the edibles you are drooling over and we will put your name on them. Not sure what you are going to grow? Let us know the kind of food you want to grow and the measurements of your garden – we will  reserve enough plants to fill your garden.

To help you with the when, where, how-to’s of growing in the cooler months, we will be hosting two workshops locally in October:

  • Cherry Valley Nursery – Beaumont      Saturday October 8th 10am
  • Olive Ave Market – Redlands                   Saturday October 15th 3pm

Dont forget, we are now stocking our self-serve  homegrown heirloom produce stand each Sunday! Swing by anytime to see what heirlooms are fresh from the edible garden! [corner of Farview & Rolling Hills off Ford] [please, no visiting on Sundays, we save that for Saturday mornings @ the farmers market]

So, here it is. You know the drill – many are very limited, so reserve yours asap! Garlic will be available after 11/15.
